Fun at the Farm

We had a great time visiting the farm that our chicks came from and will be heading back to after our school picnic. We had a fun hands on heredity lesson and got the opportunity to meet a few other barnyard friends as well!

Char’s Farm

8:45-1:00

No cost

Sack lunch needed

May 29

AuSable Institute

9:00-2:00

$10 per student (Some families have already paid for this)

Students will need a sack lunch

June 2

Hartwick Pines

9:30-2:00

$3.00 per student

Students will need a sack lunch

Goodale’s Bakery

1:00-3:00

Rescheduled Trip

We will be rescheduling our trip to the farm for next Thursday the 15th. The forecast is calling for thunderstorms, so we will shoot for next week. Hopefully the weather will be better for a trip to the farm (all outside) followed by lunch at the park!

The final book order for the school year is due back on Thursday, May 8th! Please get orders along with check or money order made out to Scholastic. Getting orders turned in will ensure delivery before the end of the school year.

Char's Farm

Our first trip will be to Char’s Farm in Johannesburg on May 8th. The bus will be leaving the school at 8:45 and will be returning around 1:00. Char’s farm is  home to the coop that our eggs came from. It also happens to be the home of the hens and roosters that we hatched last year. We will be looking at the needs and habitats, life cycles, and heredity of our soon to be chicks. Students will need a sack lunch. They may also order a sack lunch from the lunchroom.
